Botanical & Bionic Dreams
Botanical & Bionic Dreams is an immersive multidisciplinary work by COVIIIN — a project unfolding through photography, installation, handcrafted objects, light, sound, scent, and spatial atmosphere. While the photographic image remains at the centre of the work, the project was conceived as something far beyond a static series of pictures. It is an environment to enter physically and emotionally — an attempt to create a space where the viewer does not simply observe the work, but experiences it sensorially.

The project emerged from a desire to explore the fragile boundary between the organic and the artificial, the human and the constructed, nature and technological transformation. Through tactile materials, living textures, sculptural interventions, and performative light, Botanical & Bionic Dreams investigates how the body absorbs, reflects, and transforms under the conditions of the contemporary world.

Created entirely in-camera, the work rejects artificial image generation and digital fabrication in favour of material presence and real-time process. Moss, crystal-like structures, handcrafted accessories, reflective surfaces, translucent textures, and sculptural forms were physically built and arranged before the lens. Light was not added afterward, but performed live through long exposures and handheld sources — creating gestures that remain unpredictable, instinctive, and impossible to replicate precisely.

Within the series, the human figure is approached not as a subject separated from its environment, but as an extension of it. Bodies dissolve into landscape-like surfaces. Organic materials appear almost anatomical, while technological elements begin to feel strangely alive. The project does not attempt to provide fixed conclusions; instead, it constructs a meditative atmosphere where these tensions can be experienced emotionally and physically rather than intellectually explained.

The work is a collaboration between multidisciplinary artists Natasha Volk, Vladi Loewe, and Serge Lion, united under the creative collective COVIIIN.
Get in Touch
Hair and makeup became integral extensions of the installation language — not decorative elements, but sculptural forms emerging from the environment itself. Hair evolved into root-like structures reminiscent of branches, veins, and underground networks, while makeup introduced fragile textures, mineral reflections, and organic surface depth rather than concealment or idealisation. Skin was treated as a living material carrying traces of moss, stone, crystal, ash, and subtle decay, allowing the human body to appear as though it were slowly merging with nature — growing, transforming, and dissolving into the surrounding ecosystem.

Muted tones, sculptural stillness, handcrafted details, and layered textures invite a slower rhythm of viewing. Light functions as more than illumination; it behaves almost as a living presence within the darkness — revealing surfaces, obscuring forms, and creating moments suspended between dream and memory. The visual atmosphere moves continuously between ancient and futuristic states, where natural growth and synthetic transformation coexist without clear separation.

When presented physically, Botanical & Bionic Dreams expands beyond the photographic frame into an immersive spatial experience. Sound, scent, tactile materials, objects, and site-specific interventions become part of the narrative structure, allowing visitors to inhabit the emotional landscape surrounding the work. Each presentation adapts to its architectural environment, transforming the exhibition space into a sensory extension of the project itself.

"The human soul"
After plastic, moss, and chrome, we arrive at the rawest material of all: the human soul.
This chapter is a confrontation — with love, with pain, with the fragile power of the body.
A dancer moves within the confines of a massive sculpted heart, encased in gypsum, wrapped in textures that scrape and whisper.
They fight to break free.
This is about tenderness trapped in hardness. About the skin’s quiet voice against the brutality of silence.
It’s the moment when escape is not just a movement, but a necessity.
When the body remembers what the mind tries to forget.
When the heart, bruised and bound, still beats.
A story of forbidden love, of emotional exile, and the sacred act of reclaiming oneself.
This is not an end — it’s a return to the beginning.
The most human part of The World Within.

ART COLLECTIVE

COVIIIN is an art collective of three seemingly very different creators — each with a distinct artistic voice and worldview. Together, we craft layered visual and spatial experiences where art becomes a language of emotion, exploration, and dialogue.

Natasha Volk is a photographer, director, art director, and member of the European Association of Professional Photographers. A graduate of the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, she works across art, fashion, and still life photography, exploring the balance between human vulnerability and strength. Alongside her artistic practice, she has taught creative studio lighting and conceptual visual storytelling to more than 1,000 students. A recipient of international awards including the International Photography Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards, and London Creative Competition, Natasha leads the project’s visual direction, photography, and post-production, shaping its meditative and atmospheric visual language.

Vladi Loewe is an artist, sculptor, and installation designer working across spatial storytelling, handcrafted objects, and immersive environments. His work focuses on materiality, atmosphere, and emotional perception — combining unconventional materials, light, texture, and sculptural forms to create spaces that are meant to be experienced physically, not only observed. He holds a Master’s degree from Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts and completed the Architectural Imagination program through Harvard Graduate School of Design. Alongside his artistic practice, Loewe works within visual merchandising and spatial design, bringing a strong understanding of how people move through, react to, and emotionally connect with space. His projects often combine installation, photography, scenography, and sensory elements into immersive experiences that invite the viewer into the work rather than placing them outside of it.

Serge Lion is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of fashion, photography, beauty direction, and cinema. He creates powerful visual stories by seamlessly blending styling, makeup, texture, and composition. His work is backed by a strong academic foundation: Serge holds a Master’s Degree in Art History (History of Style) from the A.N. Kosygin Russian State University (Technologies. Design. Art). This expertise allows him to easily reframe classical art and historical contexts into modern visual trends.

As the founder of S.L. Fashion & Beauty Production, Serge masterminds the complete visual identity for films, editorials, and art projects. Under his direction, hair, makeup, costume, and styling come together as a single, harmonious ecosystem. His photography and film projects are more than just beautiful images. Through a sharp eye for detail and atmosphere, Serge crafts cinematic, sensory experiences that instantly connect with the viewer on an emotional level.
